Job description

SAIC is seeking a Modeling Engineer-Scientist to support the Next Generation Submarine Battery program in Crane, IN. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, enhance, and validate thermal and electrochemical models to support battery system design and performance assessment
  • Apply MATLAB for model development, simulation, and analysis
  • Support modeling activities related to multiphysics interactions within NiZn, LeadAcid, and Lithium battery systems
  • Assist with developing complex thermal and electrochemical models

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related scientific discipline and five (5) years of experience
  • Experience with thermal modeling
  • Proficiency in MATLAB
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a teambased, technical environment
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance; can start once interim clearance is granted. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in electrical and chemical modeling
  • Familiarity with ANSYS thermal modeling tools
