Job description

Job Description
As the DevSecOps Lead Engineer, you will be in a "lead by example" role, inspiring a DevSecOps team to excel in delivering for our client. You'll be a thought-leader in solutions architecture for automating the rollout of our DevSecOps toolkit in AWS Cloud environments. You'll be a champion of the Agile Mindset, helping to unleash the talents of every team member. Strong knowledge of Kubernetes is a must-have. Cybersecurity principles must be an embedded part of every phase in the team's Software Delivery Lifecycle, and you'll be facilitating this in everything we do, to keep the environments and tools compliant for ATO (Authority to Operate) in the client's networks.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and design effort for all tasks in the backlog (e.g. system design with AWS infrastructure, application upgrades, feature requests, bug fixes).
  • Lead implementation of tasks in the backlog.
  • Mentor and coach the other DevSecOps engineers on the team, leveraging the Agile Manifesto as guiding principles and inspiration.
  • Ensure the security controls are implemented correctly (e.g. no regressions) with each release.
  • Ensure the Body of Evidence (BOE) is up-to-date with each release.

Here's what you need:

  • BS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics with 5 years' experience as an engineering lead OR without a degree have at least 10 years' experience as an engineering lead
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience applying agile methodologies to the system development life cycle
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with Infrastructure-as-Code / Configuration-as-Code
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with Commercial Cloud Services
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with GitOps
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with Helm
  • Minimum 1 year experience with the assessment and accreditation of a national security system (NSS)
  • Experience with DevSecOps

Bonus points if you have:

  • Interest or experience with DevSecOps 
  • Experience with Linux/Windows in cloud environments
  • Experience with Terraform
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services for the DoD/IC (e.g. C2S)
  • Experience with Platform One Big Bang service
  • IAT level II certification

Security Clearance:

  • Active TS/SCI US Government security clearance is required
