This role requires knowledge of the scientific content behind Chabot's curricula and the ability to translate scientific concepts into dynamic informal science educational experiences. These include workshops, live science shows, exhibit floor activities, nature and overnight programs, special events, and community outreach.

The Science Education Manager supervises Science Associates, leads training for instructional staff, and ensures consistency and excellence in program delivery. This role also provides operational support for daily programming and serves as a backup for center-wide content delivery as needed. The ideal candidate brings strong systems thinking and a passion for building cohesive, space-focused informal science education experiences across programs and audiences.

This is a full-time, on-site position that includes one weekend day and flexible hours to support periodic evening programs. During peak field trip season, the role requires on-site presence beginning at 8:30 AM, Wednesday through Friday, to support school field trips. The anticipated start date for this position is June 2, 2026.

Coordinate with other departments involved in the floor experience (Visitor Experience, Galaxy Explorers, Facilities, Volunteers).

Deliver science instruction and floor facilitation personally as staffing needs require, including on short notice. Approximately 50% of time is spent on the Museum Floor.
