Job Location:                   High School (Grades 9-12)

Reports To:                       High School Principal

Job Type:                           Full-time

Qualifications:      

  • BA/BS degree
  • Possess valid Michigan teaching certificate
  • Integrated Science endorsement (DX or DI) or Biology Endorsement (DA)
  • Prior successful teaching experience (preferred)
  • Endorsement in another core area (preferred)
  • Experience with high school students (preferred)

Job Description: 

  • Responsible for instructing students in science classes, including performing the following duties:
  • Maintain proper classroom management.
  • Instructs individuals and groups in science classes.
  • Plans appropriate lessons as well as assessments
  • Teaches students with disabilities
  • Leads SEL Lessons within the classroom
  • Promotes a culture of kindness within the school environment
  • Works as part of a team of educators
  • Works as part of the science team to create engaging lessons, intervention activities, and remediation
  • Participates in Professional Learning Community activities
  • Selects, stores, orders, issues, and inventories equipment, materials, and supplies used in science program
  • Contributes to a positive school culture
