Job Description
Muller Engineering is seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing Transportation Team. In this role, you will contribute to the successful delivery of transportation projects throughout the Rocky Mountain Region while working alongside a collaborative and creative group of engineers and professionals. We're looking for a motivated individual who brings strong technical expertise, enjoys solving complex challenges, and is excited to help deliver high-quality transportation solutions.
Muller Engineering is headquartered in Lakewood, Colorado, where team members collaborate through a hybrid work schedule. We also welcome applicants from across the continental United States who are willing to relocate to Colorado.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design transportation facilities, including interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and multimodal facilities.
  • Prepare studies, reports, plans, and construction packages for a wide variety of transportation projects.
  • Support project managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and subconsultant coordination.
  • Coordinate and work with a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projects.
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish.
  • Lead design for multidisciplinary projects.
  • Perform field observation work when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university, masters degree is a plus.
  • 4-6 years of experience in the design of transportation facilities.
  • Knowledge and experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Colorado DOT (or other state DOT) plan preparation procedures and standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills
  • A desire to grow personally and professionally while working in a team environment to create designs supporting our clients' overall project goals
  • Hydraulics and/or traffic experience is a plus

Required License or Certification:
  • Active Colorado Professional Engineer license or ability to transfer a license from another state within 6 months of employment.

Salary range for this position is: $95,000/yr - $108,000/yr and is dependent on individual education, experience and qualifications.
