As a member of the EcoVapor Engineering team, the Engineering Designer supports the Project Engineering function in executing new project designs and assists the Product team with the design, development, and lifecycle support of both new and legacy products. Responsibilities include producing detailed 3D models, 2D layout drawings, conceptual diagrams, and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) using SolidWorks and DraftSight. This person is also to assist sales and marketing in developing product concepts and generate CAD-driven marketing assets, including renderings and animations, as needed.
While success in this position will require working collaboratively, self-reliance is also valued at EcoVapor. The ability to manage your way to a set objective is a requirement for success in this role.
The Engineering Designer is a core member of the Engineering Team, reporting directly to the Sr. Project Engineer. This role also collaborates closely with the Sr. Product Engineer and Engineering Manager to support cross-functional design and development initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

Under the direction and guidance of the Sr. Project and Product Engineer, the Engineering Designer will:

  • Develop and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings for new and existing EcoVapor projects and products in accordance with established design standards
  • Translate engineering sketches, specifications, and markups into accurate, production-ready CAD documentation
  • Manage revision control, update existing models and drawing packages, and ensure accuracy and completeness of released documentation
  • Optimize 3D CAD models, file structures, and design trees to improve efficiency, scalability, and long-term maintainability
  • Create conceptual diagrams and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) to support engineering and product development initiatives
  • Produce product renderings and animations to support internal reviews and sales/marketing initiatives
  • Help maintaining the shared CAD library, ensuring consistency, organization, and adherence to company standards
  • Prepare complete fabrication drawing packages suitable for manufacturing when required

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Minimum three (3) years of professional experience in a CAD drafting/design role; or
  • Bachelor's Engineering degree with a minimum of one (1) year of professional CAD drafting experience; or
  • Associate's degree in CAD Drafting or a related technical discipline with a minimum of one (1) year of professional CAD drafting experience

Technical Skills

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience with SolidWorks (extensive AutoCAD and Inventor proficiency may be considered equivalent)
  • Experience developing and maintaining complex 3D assemblies (500-1,000 components)
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks drafting, routing, weldments, configurations, and basic design features preferred
  • Experience managing and maintaining structured 3D CAD Vault
  • Familiarity with piping skids and pressure vessel design preferred
  • CSWA and CSWP certification considered an asset
