Azure Security Engineer Jobs in Indiana (NOW HIRING)

(Fortinet SME / Architecture Focus)

We are seeking a highly experienced Fortinet Network & Security Engineer to join our IT team in an all-Fortinet environment. This role is critical to the design, implementation, and optimization of our enterprise network and security infrastructure.

This is not a generalist infrastructure role — we are specifically looking for a deep subject matter expert in Fortinet technologies, including firewalls, SD-WAN, and the broader Fortinet security ecosystem.

• Own the design, implementation, and ongoing management of Fortinet-based network and security infrastructure
• Lead architecture and engineering of:
  • FortiGate firewalls
  • Fortinet SD-WAN deployments
  • Secure access and segmentation strategies
• Configure and manage core Fortinet platforms such as:
  • FortiManager
  • FortiAnalyzer
  • FortiAuthenticator
  • FortiClient / endpoint security tools
• Support and expand Fortinet security stack (e.g., EDR, SIEM, SASE, Zero Trust)
• Troubleshoot complex network and security issues across distributed environments
• Optimize performance, availability, and security posture across all locations
• Partner with internal IT teams on integrations with:
  • Cloud (Azure preferred)
  • Identity & access management
  • Endpoint platforms
• Contribute to long-term infrastructure strategy and modernization initiatives

• 5–10+ years of hands-on Fortinet experience
• Deep, real-world expertise with:
  • FortiGate (advanced configuration, policies, VPNs, routing)
  • Fortinet SD-WAN
  • FortiManager / FortiAnalyzer
• Experience working in an “all-Fortinet” or heavily Fortinet-based environment
• Strong understanding of network security architecture and best practices
• Proven ability to design and implement Fortinet solutions at scale
• Comfortable operating as a go-to SME and escalation point

(Helpful, but not deal-breakers)

• Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms
• Exposure to:
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • Endpoint management tools
  • ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (HIPAA is a plus)
• Prior leadership or mentoring experience (not required)

• Fortinet NSE certifications (NSE 4, 5, 7, or 8)
• Other networking/security certifications are a plus but secondary

• Engineers who are true Fortinet specialists—not generalists
• Candidates who prefer deep technical ownership over broad infrastructure responsibility
• Professionals from:
  • Fortinet partners / resellers
  • MSSPs
  • Organizations standardized on Fortinet

This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
