Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, and security of multi-cloud environments. This role focuses on engineering secure, scalable systems while ensuring compliance with established security frameworks and supporting continuous monitoring efforts.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in systems engineering, cloud architectures, and security integration, with the ability to collaborate across teams and ensure systems meet performance, security, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the design, integration, and maintenance of secure cloud-based systems across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud
• Perform system engineering activities including architecture design, requirements analysis, and system integration
• Assess cloud and system architectures for security gaps, vulnerabilities, and performance issues
• Ensure systems comply with security standards, policies, and frameworks
• Support continuous monitoring activities by analyzing system alerts, vulnerabilities, and security findings
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement secure, scalable solutions
• Support development and maintenance of system documentation, including architecture diagrams and technical specifications
• Participate in technical exchange meetings (TEMs) with stakeholders and cloud service providers
• Assist in the development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Support system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure operational performance
• Contribute to system lifecycle activities including design, deployment, and sustainment

Required Skills & Experience
• Demonstrated experience in systems engineering, system integration, or cloud engineering
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or Oracle Cloud
• Strong understanding of system architecture, networking, and infrastructure components
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST RMF, NIST 800-53, and ICD 503
• Experience identifying and resolving system vulnerabilities and performance issues
• Experience supporting continuous monitoring and system security processes
• Experience working with system documentation, architecture design, and technical requirements
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate across technical teams and stakeholders
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
