Job Description Alquemy's Manitoba client is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to join their team, this is a short term contract position with hybrid arrangement. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems/Data Analyst for a targeted, short-term contract to drive our ODS Reporting Modernization initiative. This critical project involves the reverse engineering, modernization, and redevelopment of legacy PHP applications featuring embedded SQL.

As the lead consultant, you will dissect undocumented legacy systems, map complex data dependencies, and rebuild robust reporting logic to integrate seamlessly with our modernized data infrastructure (Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Banner ERP). Key Responsibilities: Reverse Engineering & Analysis: Deconstruct legacy PHP applications and embedded SQL to uncover and map undocumented reporting logic. Data Mapping & Dependency Analysis: Identify, catalog, and document data sources, lineage, and complex report structures.

Modernization & Redevelopment: Rebuild, optimize, and point SQL queries and PHP reports toward new, modernized data environments. Migration Strategy: Develop comprehensive migration specifications and technical blueprints for reporting redevelopment. Quality Assurance: Lead data validation, rigorous testing, and data reconciliation to ensure absolute reporting accuracy between legacy and new systems.

Knowledge Transfer: Author technical documentation and provide structured knowledge transfer to internal stakeholders to ensure long-term sustainability. Technical & Professional Requirements: Core Requirements 8+ years of progressive experience as a Systems Analyst, Data Analyst, or Data Engineer. 5+ years of advanced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development experience.

5+ years of full-stack PHP development experience (specifically handling embedded database logic). 3+ years of T-SQL (SQL Server) development experience. 3+ years of JavaScript development experience.

Proven Track Record: Demonstrated experience untangling complex reporting systems and executing large-scale data extraction/migration projects. Highly Valued Assets Note: Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following: Evisions Argos reporting experience. Enterprise experience within Higher Education environments.

Hands-on experience with modern BI tools (Power BI) and cloud ecosystems (Microsoft Azure). Exceptional technical documentation skills alongside strong stakeholder communication capabilities.
