Azure Cloud Systems Administrator

Our Randstad client in Washington, D.C. is seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Systems Administrator with at least 5 years of IT experience, including 3+ years of hands-on experience in Azure Cloud Administration. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge across various IT domains such as Architecture, Infrastructure management, Operating Systems, Databases, Applications, Networks, and Cloud implementations. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, automation, orchestration, and modern DevOps practices is essential. This role entails configuring, administering, and managing Azure cloud infrastructure components, troubleshooting operational and security issues, and ensuring seamless integration of Microsoft services into business processes. Strong communication, collaboration, and Azure admin certification are prerequisites for this position. Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrated expertise in various IT domains including Architecture, Infrastructure management, Operating Systems, Databases, Applications, Networks, and Cloud implementations.
  • Proficient with Azure Cloud Administration, with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience.
  • Experience in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub/Bitbucket), automation, orchestration, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Thorough understanding of cloud infrastructure components for end-to-end Azure cloud solutions.
  • Installation, configuration, administration, and management of Azure compute instances, Azure Backup, Azure Storage Monitor, and related services.
  • Clear understanding of NSGs and Azure baseline security guidelines.
  • Proficiency in handling Azure network components such as VNETs, Subnets, NAT Gateways, Express Route, etc.
  • Experience in exposing internal applications to the public internet using Azure native services like WAF, Front Door, etc.
  • Troubleshooting Azure operational, infrastructure, network, and security issues with a focus on automation.
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerShell, basic understanding of SQL database servers, and IIS servers.
  • Documentation and support of business processes, workflows, data, and application platforms dependent on Microsoft services.
  • Ownership of issues, resolution with urgency, and adherence to service levels, including responding to system outages during off-hours.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an integrated team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

  • Azure admin certification is mandatory.
