Clinical Applications Analyst (EHR - Epic / axiUm) | Onsite - San Francisco, CA
LHH has partnered with our client to identify a Clinical Applications Analyst to support and optimize critical clinical systems in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role will serve as the first line of support for EHR applications, working closely with faculty, staff, and students to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across clinical workflows.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role that blends application support, data analysis, reporting, and system administration, with an opportunity to support a major transition from axiUm to Epic.
Position Overview
Under the direction of IT leadership, this role will support clinical applications, primarily axiUm and Epic, ensuring system performance, data integrity, and user support across clinic operations.
You will work directly with end users, troubleshoot issues, manage system access, and support reporting and data needs, while also contributing to process improvements and system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary support resource for EHR systems (axiUm and Epic)
  • Provide day-to-day support to users including faculty, staff, and students
  • Support clinic workflows including scheduling, billing, statements, rotations, and user onboarding
  • Troubleshoot application issues and ensure timely resolution
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, audits, and system security
  • Extract, analyze, and transform data for reporting and operational needs
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports (productivity, billing, access, quality, etc.)
  • Write scripts or programs to automate processes and improve efficiency
  • Partner with developers, analysts, and vendors to implement system enhancements
  • Support documentation, training materials, and knowledge sharing
  • Assist with data migration and system alignment during transition from axiUm to Epic
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in application administration, EHR support, or a related role
  • Experience supporting clinical or healthcare applications strongly preferred
  • Strong SQL and data analysis skills
  • Experience with reporting tools and dashboard development
  • Knowledge of at least one programming or scripting language (Python, R, etc.)
  • Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, lookups, data analysis)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Epic reporting tools (Clarity, Caboodle, Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer)
  • Experience with axiUm reporting tools (SSRS, Crystal Reports)
  • Experience building dashboards in Power BI or Tableau
  • Familiarity with data modeling and ETL processes
  • Knowledge of HL7/FHIR, interfaces, or healthcare data structures
  • Experience in healthcare, dental, or academic clinical environments
Additional Details
  • Full-time, onsite role (5 days per week)
  • Standard business hours with occasional after-hours support
