Job description

Are you passionate about the impact of cloud computing and AI on Financial Services, with a special focus on security? Do you have a unique combination of broad and deep security knowledge, coupled with business acumen and strong interpersonal skills?
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a specialized Security Solutions Architect to work with our largest Financial Services customers. In this vital role, you will help customers achieve their business goals on AWS by identifying and tackling major security, risk, and compliance questions from stakeholders within financial institutions, and by building and maintaining CIO/CISO/CRO and executive-level relationships with policy approvers and owners. You will work directly with customer security, audit, risk and compliance teams to help them understand how to confidently utilize AWS, identify risk and design controls, setup ongoing assurance, and establish automated compliance.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Help overcome barriers to AWS adoption in Financial Services accounts by identifying and tackling major security, risk and compliance questions from stakeholders within financial institutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions to work through risk, security, and compliance concerns.
- Work with customer stakeholders to identify controls, as well as educating auditors and examiners by helping them understand how to assess third-party supplier arrangements and conduct audits when AWS is in scope.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with CIO/CISO/CRO and policy approvers and owners.
- Develop high-quality technical content, such as white papers and reference architectures, that can be used by our customers to assist them in deploying secure and compliant cloud-based solutions.
- Assess security and controls knowledge across AWS sales and solutions architecture teams and develop plans to address gaps.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
- 3+ years of communicating with and presenting to executive and senior audiences experience
- Experience developing technology security solutions and evangelizing end-to-end technology security roadmaps that guide secure IT transformations toward cloud computing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent
- Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent
- Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
- Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
- Experience with any combination of the following: threat modeling, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security
- Experience in application security architecture, security code reviews, security testing, incident response, or security infrastructure

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
