Title: Cloud Support Engineer, Monitoring, IAM, Backups, Recovery, Incident mgmt Seattle WA, 12 Months cont

Reports to: Principal Technical Product Owner, VP Cloud

Basic Purpose:

The Cloud Support Engineer is responsible for administration of key SaaS platforms and frontline operational support of Parametric's AWS hosted cloud environment, including Monitoring, Identity and Secrets Management, Backups, Recovery, and Incident Response.

This role provides frontline operational support for Parametric's cloud environment including over 100 production AWS applications and critical SaaS platforms. The engineer partners with Cloud Platform Engineering, Development, Security, and Site Reliability Engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions while supporting ongoing business growth and the migration of legacy data center workloads to AWS.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 1/Tier 2 cloud infrastructure support, incident management, and request fulfillment for Client's Cloud infrastructure supporting 100+ production AWS applications
  • Administer Clients SaaS platforms (Snowflake, MongoDB Atlas, Confluent Cloud), including platform onboarding, access management, monitoring, security guardrails, and support for audit and risk remediation
  • Support day-to-day production operations across AWS and SaaS platforms, ensuring availability, stability, and adherence to operational standards
  • Monitor support queues and respond to Cloud incidents, service requests, and operational escalations
  • Support Identity and Access Management across AWS and SaaS platforms
  • Implement centralized observability and monitoring for supported platforms
  • Perform Cloud backup and recovery operations for production applications
  • Assist with implementation and enforcement of Cloud Security policies and guardrails
  • Create and maintain Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for platform configuration
  • Support audit and regulatory activities, including evidence collection, control validation, and remediation tracking
  • Support Parametric's data center migration to AWS, including operational onboarding of migrated applications and post-migration stabilization
  • Create and maintain documentation related to cloud operations, support processes, and platform configurations
  • Mentor junior team members on secure Cloud Operations practices and IaC
  • Stay current with industry trends and drive continuous improvement in cloud operations

Job Requirements:

  • AWS Cloud Architect Associate certification or equivalent
  • 3+ years' hands-on AWS Support experience
  • 6+ years hands-on experience in Information Technology roles
  • Strong knowledge of Terraform, Python, and source control (Github)
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access Management technologies and best practices
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tooling (Jira)
  • Familiarity with cross-cloud monitoring solutions (DataDog preferred)
  • Cloud Incident Management experience and ability to participate in on-call rotation
  • Experience with backup and recovery tooling (AWS Backup preferred)
  • Experience working in Linux/UNIX
  • Strong written and verbal communication, documentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to operate effectively both independently and within a team
