Mortgage Loan Originator

Department: Loan

Job Summary:

Proactively solicits new residential mortgage business. Also continually identifies, develops and maintains a quality network of business relationships. Interview prospective borrowers in order to analyze financial and credit data determining customer's financial objectives, advise customers of product/pricing policies and guidelines, and gathers required information. Ensures exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Demonstrates a commitment to professional ethics by complying with all federal and state compliance policies and adhering to HMDA requirements.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Meet with loan applicants to gather personal information and answer questions.

Explain different types of loans and the terms of each one to applicants.

Obtain, verify, and analyze the applicant's financial information, such as the credit rating and income level.

Review loan agreements to ensure that they comply with federal and state regulations.

Complete each loan application and all pre-processing functions in a timely manner.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Professional and effective interpersonal skills.

Proven track record of building business through Sales Techniques and a Marketing Plan.

Education & Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Bachelor's degree.

Minimum of 2 years mortgage lending experience.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
