Alternative Vehicle Program (AVP) -Delivery Driver – Use Personal Vehicle 

Most routes are in North Little Rock and Maumelle

ETCH Transport Company in Central AR partners with FedEx Ground to deliver packages to business and residential customers primarily in West Little Rock, Maumelle and North Little Rock. We have an immediate need for multiple energetic delivery drivers. The AVP Delivery Driver is part of the AVP- Alternative Vehicle Program. Due to operating a personal vehicle on state/federal roadways, this has been determined to be a safety sensitive position in accordance with Act 593 of Arkansas law. Background check, drug screen and clean driving record is required. Due to the strenuous and physically demanding nature of the position, those who thrive most as drivers are energetic and enjoy moving and being active. A willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures and transportation laws is a must. Also, being good-natured, flexible, and adaptable to last minute changes in schedules and routes is important.

Primary duties/responsibilities:

Safe operation, maintenance, and repairs of your personal vehicle and obey all state and federal traffic laws. 

Loading, transporting, and accurately delivering packages in a safe and timely manner. Adhering to assigned routes and following strict pickup and delivery deadline windows.

Utilizing tools such as iPad (navigation/routing software) and scanner (package delivery/tracking software).

Inspecting and organizing packages prior to leaving the terminal for daily route. Lifting and handling packages of various weights and sizes (up to 60 lbs).

Communicating throughout the day with management and updating delivery schedule as necessary.

Job Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver's license and clean background check and drug screen. 

Must have reliable transportation of a vehicle not older than 15 years and current automotive insurance. Minivans and small SUVs are ideal. Pickup trucks must have a covered, lockable bed. Cargo vans are not allowed.

  • Vehicle must be 2011 model or newer.
  • Vehicle must not have noticeable dents, scratches, holes, faded paint, or any damage
  • Vehicle cannot have any stickers or decals at all (exception made for parking permits). No bumper stickers, school stickers, 'my child goes to _____' stickers. These are FedEx guidelines and are not negotiable.

The vehicle used for this position must be the exact same vehicle every time.

Prior package or food delivery driving experience a plus.

Strong organizational skills, customer service, and collaborative teamwork are necessary to be successful in this position.

Familiarity with Little Rock, AR and the surrounding metro area is helpful but not required.

Must have a reliable personal cell phone.

Compensation

$20-30 per hour depending on personal productivity. Actual pay based on number of stops successfully completed each day.

A shift would be expected to be 3 - 6 hours with possibility of extending the day depending on daily package volume.

Hours expected to be approximately 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Some flexibility could be allowed once a driver is fully trained and capable of delivering independently without help from a trainer or manager.

ETCH Transport Company, Inc. is an independent service provider for FedEx servicing territory in Central Arkansas and operating out of the Mabelvale, AR FedEx terminal. ETCH delivers to six zip codes primarily in Maumelle and North Little Rock.
In all US markets, FedEx Ground outsources the transfer of packages up to 150 pounds from the local terminal to individual residences or businesses.
