The Company

Position Summary

The Shaping Machinist will independently and safely set up and operate CNC and manual shapers.

Essential Functions

· Read and understand process travelers, setup journals, operation sheets and CMM inspection reports to produce complex finished product.

· Setup, tooling adjustments and program offsets as necessary.

· Ability to accurately inspect work utilizing various instruments including gages, indicators and micrometers.

· Perform daily TPM responsibilities.

· Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations. Wear necessary personal protective equipment as required.

· Actively participate in cross-training, cost savings and team activities to improve processes.

· Maintain appropriate tact and diplomacy in dealings with co-workers, team members and supervisors.

Experience and Education

· Minimum of 1 year of aerospace CNC machining experience is required.

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Degree/certificate from vocation school or college program is a plus, but extensive experience may substitute for education.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
