Job description

General Purpose of Job: The Line Services Technician position is responsible for providing fuel, oil, hangar and tie down storage, lavatory service, courtesy car transportation, luggage handling and interior and exterior services to customers and other departments. Additional responsibilities include commercial ramp operations, aircraft cleaning, operations and commissary duties as required.

Duties:

  • Performs fueling and de-icing of all types of aircraft in accordance to specific standards
  • Directs the movement of aircraft and vehicular traffic on the ramp and in and about the shops and hangars of the Company's facilities; properly secures all parked aircraft at all times, clean windshields, remove trash, perform lavatory service and check tire pressures as requested
  • Drives and services fuel trucks and ground support vehicles, and services aircraft and ground support vehicles with fuel, oil, and all other supplies and materials which may be required by the aircraft or vehicle; responsible for operating and filling of fuel trucks; cleaning, servicing, operating, and performing minor maintenance to this equipment
  • Use safety related equipment and provide de-icing service to aircraft when needed
  • Performs grounds keeping and janitorial maintenance duties, drives snow plow and assist with snow removal as required
  • Maintain the cleanliness and maintenance of the areas in and about the Company's vicinity
  • Assists all aircraft crews and passengers by courteously providing services they may require
  • Assist with daily fuel farm inspections including performing preloading and quality control inspections
  • Perform daily and monthly fuel truck safety inspections. Ensure vehicles are in safe operating order and running properly
  • Maintain compliance with all FAA, Federal, State, Local and Avflight safety policies and procedures
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent,
  • 2 years related experience, Aviation experience a plus
  • Must pass background check, pre-employment drug test, have valid Driver's license with a good driving record within company standards
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills with the ability to easily grasp the functionality and concepts of company software for paperwork and computer transactions
  • Ability to write clearly and legibly
  • Ability to push/pull/lift 70 lbs. for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints
  • Must be available and willing to work varied hours including swing and graveyard shifts plus weekends and holidays
  • Must be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment

Physical Demands: Strenuous lifting and pulling fuel hoses (75-80 lbs.).Climbing and standing on step ladders while connecting fueling hoses overhead. Bending and stooping to manipulate hoses and connect aircraft tow bars. Must be able to carry 70 pound suitcase from the floor to 18 inches and carry 70 pound suitcase in front of you with both hands for a distance of up to 25 feet; Must have physical dexterity sufficient to perform repetitive tasks and motions, including bending at the waist and knees, squatting, kneeling, crawling, twisting and sustaining those positions for extended amounts of time. Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.

Work Environment: Airport environment: Indoors and Outdoors. Extreme outdoor conditions where extreme temperature ranges may be encountered.
