Position: Systems Engineer, Sr (Post Production Avid Engineer)
Location: Hollywood, CA (On-Site)
*Pay Range: $85,000 - $120,000 USD annually
POSITION SUMMARY:
Company 3 is a global leader in media and entertainment services for film, video and online content. With operations in Los Angeles, New York and around the globe, the company employs over 3,500 of the most talented, highly honored, and recognized artists and industry veterans worldwide.
As a Systems Engineer, Senior at Company 3, you will be working as part of a team, implementing core creative services applications and tools to modernize the way our artists and clients work. Implementation of in-studio and remote workflows that adhere to our security standards will be critical. You will be developing and disseminating best practices for supporting complex technical processes to maintain or improve operational efficiency.
MAIN DUTIES:
You will provide Tier 1 support for Avid Editorial clients through phone, email and in-person interactions, as well as work closely with engineering teams in NY and LA to optimize Avid system architectures, adhering to company standards and securities requirements. Additional duties include:
  • Help define, design, and implement next generation infrastructure.
  • Work with engineering teams to support creative applications globally.
  • Bring Work from Home technology hardware and software solutions.
  • Work collaboratively to handle all operational and production technical needs.
  • Work in a fast pace creative environment with the ability to problem-solve on the fly.
  • Update and maintain an accurate inventory for all Editorial gear.
  • Implementing solutions that are cost effective and address our clients' needs and are detail-oriented with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Recommends solutions to business and management problems
  • Functional expert executing significant aspects/components of projects.
  • Provides technical expertise and guidance to team members and work processes.
  • Contributes to evaluating and making recommendations on resource requirements on projects.

WHAT YOU BRING:
The ideal candidate will be very experienced working in the field of IT. They must be proficient with Avid Media Composer, Avid NEXIS support (ACSR preferred, not mandatory), and have creative applications experience. Additional desired skills include:
  • Proficient with Storage performance and Archival concepts
  • Proficient with Active Directory and VMware administration
  • Proficient with cloud architecture or administration
  • Proficient with networking concepts and implementation for remote and in-studio production workflows
  • Strong written, verbal, and non-verbal communication is necessary to ensure professional interactions with clients and vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Postproduction/ studio experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work around production schedules and to travel as required.
  • Ability to respond after-hours, weekends, and holidays on an on-call basis.
