Job Description
Sales Executive | Business Aviation
Location: Houston/Webster, TX (Remote)
About World Fuel
World Fuel is a global leader in aviation fuel, trip support, and business aviation services. We help flight departments, aircraft operators, and aviation professionals operate more efficiently through reliable fuel supply, innovative technology, operational support, and industry-leading customer service.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a relationship-driven Sales Executive to join our Business Aviation team. This role will be responsible for managing and growing an existing portfolio of customer accounts while developing new business opportunities across the business aviation market.
This is more than a fuel sales role. The successful candidate will partner with aircraft operators and flight departments to promote World Fuel's full suite of aviation solutions, including fuel programs, technology, and value-added services that support customers' daily operations.
This opportunity is ideal for a consultative sales professional who enjoys building long-term relationships, uncovering customer needs, and creating solutions that drive mutual success.
What You'll Do
Business Development & Account Growth
  • Manage and grow an established portfolio of business aviation accounts.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the business aviation market.
  • Expand customer adoption of World Fuel's products, services, technology, and fuel programs.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies designed to increase fuel volume, revenue, and customer retention.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and relationship development through contract execution and ongoing account growth.

Customer Relationship Management
  • Build trusted relationships with aircraft operators, flight departments, and aviation professionals.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to customers by understanding their operational needs and recommending effective solutions.
  • Engage with key decision makers, including Directors of Aviation, Chief Pilots, Pilots, Schedulers, Dispatchers, and Flight Operations personnel.
  • Conduct customer meetings, business reviews, and account planning discussions.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience that promotes long-term loyalty and retention.

Commercial Strategy
  • Analyze customer opportunities, market conditions, and industry trends to support business growth.
  • Develop pricing recommendations and negotiate commercial agreements aligned with company objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to increase customer value while maximizing account profitability.
  • Support contract renewals, account retention, and strategic growth initiatives.

Collaboration & Travel
  • Partner closely with Operations, Supply, Logistics, Finance, and Customer Service teams to support customers and ensure seamless execution.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline activity, forecasts, and customer records within CRM systems.
  • Travel as needed to support customers, business development activities, industry events, and team meetings.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, account management, or customer-facing commercial roles.
  • Proven ability to develop new business while growing and retaining existing customer relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated success managing customer accounts and achieving sales objectives.
  • Ability to build credibility and trust with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in business aviation, aviation fuel, FBO operations, flight operations, aviation services, or a related industry.
  • Understanding of aircraft operations and flight department environments.
  • Knowledge of aviation fuel programs, trip support services, or aviation-related commercial solutions.
  • Experience negotiating commercial agreements and pricing structures.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
  • A genuine passion for relationship-building and customer success.
  • A consultative sales approach focused on long-term partnerships rather than transactional selling.
  • Curiosity about customers' operations and the ability to identify growth opportunities.
  • The drive to win new business while delivering exceptional service to existing customers.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to work across teams to support customer needs.
  • Interest in building a long-term career within the business aviation industry.

Why Join World Fuel?
  • Join a global leader in aviation fuel and aviation services.
  • Inherit an existing portfolio of customer relationships while building new business opportunities.
  • Work with some of the most recognizable operators and flight departments in business aviation.
  • Collaborate with experienced industry professionals on a highly tenured and successful team.
  • Competitive compensation, including commission and incentive earning opportunities.
  • Opportunity for long-term career growth within a global organization.

If you are passionate about aviation, enjoy developing meaningful customer relationships, and are motivated by both account growth and new business development, we'd love to hear from you.
