Job Title: Head Boys Tennis Coach
Salary: Stipend
Location: Petersburg High School
Supervisor: Athletic Director and Principal
 



Job Function
Position is responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and coaching instruction at a large public high school.  


Essential Duties
To develop student athletes to their maximum potential, athletically and academically.
To demonstrate high ideals, good habits and attitudes and demand the same of the player.
To cooperate with the principal and athletic director in the planning, scheduling and the general conduct of activities assigned.
To properly supervise assistant coaches by outlining team goals, strategies, objectives and tasks to be performed.
Submit annually a budget to the athletic director prior to the conclusion of the school year.
To inventory annually, all equipment, supplies and materials and submit shortages and needs to the athletic director prior to the conclusion of the school year.
To communicate concerns or problems to the principal on any matters, not specifically covered by this job description.
To properly supervise student athletes under his/her immediate supervision and insure preventative measures are taken to prevent injuries, and swift and immediate care is given in case of injuries.
To keep abreast of all NCAA rules/regulations relative to visitations, recruitment and grades of student athletics.
To perform other duties/responsibilities deemed necessary.
Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required)
Abilit to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Demonstrates skills through personal participation or prior coaching experience in the sport assigned.
Skillful working with students and staff in an athletic environment.
Avert problem situations and intervenes to resolve conflicts. Exercises self-control and perseverance when dealing with students.                                                                                                                                Completes paperwork timely and accurately. Maintains an acceptable attendance record and is punctual. Skillful in working with students and staff in an athletic environment.

















Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma of General Equivalency Diploma required
Experience: Demonstrates skills through personal participation or prior coaching experience in sport assigned.
