Database Administrator
FT, 1st Shift

Mental Health Services is hiring for an experienced Database Administrator, with specific knowledge of EHR systems in such as Next Gen or Credible. This is a mid/high-level healthcare IT position, focusing on the electronic health record database reporting, creating and upkeep of the program. This person will lead a team of clinicians and IT professionals on the current project of switching EHR systems to Next Gen for our providers.

The Database Administrator provides support to ensure the accuracy and thoroughness of quality and safety related data, provides reports for Patient Safety, Quality Programs, departmental reports, regulatory reports, medical staff reports and facilitates responses to information needs utilizing accessible data bases. This position provides support to the agency in all departments who utilize the EMR (Avatar/Netsmart). The Database Administrator is knowledgeable in quality improvement, performance improvement, statistical analysis, multi-variant analysis, and visual presentation methodologies, tools, and techniques as well as Joint Commission, state and federal regulations and HIPAA requirements. This position requires facilitating and maintaining strong, positive, mature, and collaborative working relationships with all departments, the Leadership Team, and the Medical Staff.
Qualified applicants should have prior experience in a healthcare settings, preferably behavioral/mental health (NExt Gen, Credible, Avatar, EPIC, etc.) Applicants should enjoy a busy, multi-faceted working environment and should possess excellent communication skills. Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, IT or related fields preferred. This position requires some travel (Madison County and Clark County), and is part of the quality team with MHS.
Education/Experience/Certifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's in IT, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting (behavioral health preferred)
  • Experience with an electronic health record (Credible, Avatar, Epic, etc)
  • Ohio Drivers license and ability to be covered un der the MHS liability policy.

MHS provides CPR/First Aid and NVCI (CPI Blue) for all new staff, along with on-going education and on-the-job training opportunities.
All MHS candidates are required to have an Ohio BCI check (FBI check required if you have lived in Ohio for less than 5 years, or for working with children), 5-panel drug screen and residential candidates must have a 2 step TB (or proof of prior TB) upon conditional offer of employment.
