Job description

Wound Care Nurse Needed

Avante at Mt. Dora is seeking a Wound Care Nurse to provide weekly monitoring of existing pressure ulcers, with recommendations for treatment changes in the absence of improvement. Recommending and implementing preventative interventions to prevent skin breakdowns for immobile and inactive residents in accordance with state and federal regulations. To direct and supervise the restorative needs of all residents, in cooperation with the Rehab Director and Director of Nursing, for the purpose of preventing decline and maintaining the highest practicable level of functioning.

Qualifications:

· Must be a Registered or Licensed Practical Nurse with license in good standing, with previous hospital, long-term care and restorative or wound care experience.

· Must be 18 years of age

· Must speak and understand English

· Must be able to supervise and instruct others.

· Previous supervisory experience or completion of appropriate training program, or as required by state law.

· Positive attitude toward the elderly.

Education and Experience:

· Must be a Licensed Nurse in the appropriate State.

· Previous experience in Long Term Care preferred.

Background Screening Requirement:

This position requires background screening through the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
