Job description

The AV System Specialist is part of the IT Department in the MWG-Corporate Division and reports to the IT Manager. The position is an exempt, salaried role, located at 500 Steed Road, Ridgeland MS 39157.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The AV System Specialist works with and reports to the I.T. Manager. The person in this role provides AV support and services to all MWG employees, including remote offices and executive environments. This position is responsible for the full lifecycle of AV systems including design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

The position is based within all offices of Morgan White Group, with headquarters in Ridgeland, Mississippi. This role may require travel to other office locations and executive residences. To perform the job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed here are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.   • Provides advanced support for conference room AV systems including displays, projectors, video conferencing platforms (Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms), microphones, speakers, and control systems.
  • Installs, configures, and integrates AV systems including cabling, mounts, control systems, and network-connected devices.
  • Designs and implements AV solutions for new conference rooms, office buildouts, and renovations with minimal supervision.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves AV issues quickly, including real-time support during meetings and executive events.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and ensures all AV systems are operating reliably and consistently.
  • Works closely with IT and Facilities to ensure proper integration of AV systems with network and infrastructure.
  • Provides high-level, white-glove support for executive leadership, including onsite support at executive residences when required.
  • Maintains and improves AV standards, documentation, and system configurations across the organization.
  • Evaluates, recommends, and procures AV hardware and software solutions.
  • Maintains all work tasks in the department's ticketing system.
  • Coordinates with and oversees third-party vendors when necessary.
  • Trains end users on proper use of conference room technology and AV systems.
  • Maintains appropriate records and documentation as defined by HIPAA, PCI, and MWG Policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by IT Manager.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Audio Visual Technology, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3โ€“5 years of hands-on experience with AV system installation, configuration, and support in a corporate or enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience designing and deploying AV solutions independently.
  • Strong experience with video conferencing systems such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with AV control systems (Crestron, Extron, AMX) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of AV signal flow, system integration, and structured cabling.
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts related to AV systems (IP-based devices, VLANs, PoE).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, especially when working with executive leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
