Job description

Commercial Audiovisual (AV) Site Ops Manager
The Commercial AV Site Ops Manager provides senior-level field leadership across multiple projects, ensuring that installations meet the organization's standards for safety, quality, and performance. This role oversees and supports Foremen, coordinates with Project Managers and Engineering, and drives consistent execution across job sites. The Site Ops Manager is also responsible for developing and refining field processes, standard operating procedures, and best practices that improve consistency, efficiency, and overall field performance.
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and support AV Foremen across all active job sites.
  • Set expectations for professionalism, efficiency, quality, and communication.
  • Provide on-site coaching and technical guidance for Foremen, Leads, and installation technicians.
  • Assist in workforce planning, crew assignments, and forecasting labor needs.

Quality Control and Standards Enforcement
  • Maintain and enforce a high standard of AV installation quality across all projects.
  • Perform regular jobsite walkthroughs to assess craftsmanship, progress, and adherence to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with company installation standards, cabling practices, labeling, testing protocols, and commissioning requirements.
  • Identify deficiencies early and work with Foremen to correct issues before they impact schedule or quality.

Process Development and Continuous Improvement
  • Create, refine, and implement standard operating procedures for field operations, installation methods, quality control, and safety practices.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, PMO, and leadership to streamline workflows and improve cross-department consistency.
  • Introduce field processes that enhance predictability, reduce installation variability, and elevate field performance.
  • Review and improve existing processes based on field feedback, project outcomes, and evolving industry standards.

Safety Oversight
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all job sites.
  • Ensure strict adherence to OSHA regulations, company safety protocols, and site-specific requirements.
  • Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and recurring safety trainings.
  • Investigate incidents, document findings, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety compliance and ensure that all field staff follow best practices.

Project Coordination
  • Serve as the primary field liaison between Project Managers, Engineering, Warehouse/Logistics, and Foremen.
  • Support planning for site logistics, installation sequencing, and material coordination to ensure efficient execution.
  • Resolve field-level issues quickly to maintain project schedules.
  • Review drawings, construction documents, and change orders to ensure correct field implementation.

Reporting and Documentation
  • Provide consistent progress updates to Project Managers and leadership.
  • Document jobsite visits, safety inspections, quality audits, and process improvements.
  • Assist in project closeout by verifying installation quality, resolving punch lists, and ensuring systems are ready for commissioning.

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial audiovisual installation, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or foreman capacity.
  • Strong understanding of AV systems, cable infrastructure, DSPs, control systems, and commissioning practices.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop field teams.
  • Experience creating or improving field procedures, workflows, or standards.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety requirements.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
  • OSHA 10 certification required for overseeing subordinate crews.
  • Ability to travel between multiple job sites regularly.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience managing large-scale or multi-phase commercial construction projects.
  • CTS or CTS-I certification.
  • Familiarity with major AV manufacturers such as QSC, Crestron, Biamp, and Shure.
  • Ability to read and interpret AV drawings, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Working knowledge of structured cabling (Cat6, fiber) and security systems (access control, surveillance) is preferred.
