Job description

About the Role

This position will be based on-site in Los Angeles. In this role, you will support development and lead execution of Uber's fleet operations strategy to deliver scaled deployment of Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) on Uber in a newly launched market. You will work with AV developers, incumbent fleet operators, and other ecosystem participants (infrastructure developers, regulators, real estate owners) to drive industry-leading asset utilization and up-time to deliver best-in-class fleet economics to our partners. Our ideal candidate is a true operator with strong technical aptitude and an entrepreneurial spirit; a builder who is comfortable navigating through ambiguity and passionate about building and scaling processes.

What You'll Do

  • Lead our fleet partners through scaling fleet supply, and support ongoing operations in your region with cross-functional partners
  • Act as the main point of contact for the fleet partner, managing escalations and driving resolutions for any operational issues
  • Understand the service and support ecosystem for vehicle fleets, the challenges our AV partners face in providing these services, and help create a clear plan to address opportunities for improvement
  • Cultivate partnerships with external partners ranging from incumbent fleet operators to infrastructure developers to software providers, and other market participants (e.g. OEMs, real estate and charging partners, data centers, etc).
  • Work closely with Uber cross-functional teams to identify and resolve dependencies to your markets' roadmap, highlight resource requirements, help inform budgets, help define KPIs, and be accountable for performance
  • Approach data with curiosity and a focus on accuracy, you'll identify and report trends, helping the team think creatively through solutions while working to turn ideas into actionable plans

Basic Qualifications

  • 4 years Operations Management or Program Management experience
  • 2+ years of Fleet Operations and/or Logistics experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years AV Operations experience preferred
  • Experience launching AV Operations in new markets
  • Self-starter who thrives in an environment of responsibility and independence, making smart judgements in spite of ambiguity 
  • Track record of successful project development and implementation through principled execution, an understanding of operational factors, and their impacts on unit economics
  • Excellent partner management 
  • Data-driven decision making mentality, sound business judgment, and the ability to back your analysis up with relevant analytical thinking

For Los Angeles, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $118,000 per year - USD $131,000 per year.

You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
