Hourly pay range- $18-$22/hour.
Job Overview
The Maintenance Trades Helper provides day-to-day installation support for senior technicians performing a variety of structured wiring and telecommunication system installations. Responsible for assisting in the installation of infrastructure, wiring, and related communications equipment. The Maintenance Trades Helper is responsible for performing specific or general duties of lesser skill, such as keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools; cleaning working area, and equipment; assisting technicians by holding materials or tools; and performing other unskilled tasks as directed by site leads.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
• Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in AV/IT installations
• Strong teaming and communication abilities
• Works well in a team environment
• Ability to work under pressure and time constraints
• Ability to carry 50 pounds unaided or 90-pound loads aided
• Work in tight, cramped spaces such as equipment rack (IT) rooms and comms closets
• Work on ladders and/or move up and down steep staircases as required
• Other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
• The Maintenance Trades Helper will, under the direction and supervision of a senior technician, support all aspects of infrastructure, equipment, and network cabling installation.
• We prefer this employee to have basic knowledge of the installation of equipment racks, infrastructure, and network cabling.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
• Must be a US citizen
• Must have ability to gain a Top-Secret clearance
• Must have a High School diploma or GED
• Must have valid driver's license
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
• Must have own basic hand tools
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
Preferred:
• General knowledge of DATA centers
• General knowledge of operating principles for wired and wireless environments
• IT/AV technical training from an accredited institution
• Ability to understand and follow basic infrastructure and cabling drawings with minimal guidance.
