Job description

AV Install Technician

Location: Near Boston, MA
Pay Rate: $37 - $45 per hour
Type: Full-Time | Onsite
Travel: Required, including overnight and occasional weekend travel

Position Overview

Our growing Audio-Visual solutions client is seeking an experienced AV Install Technician to support the installation and deployment of commercial AV systems. This hands-on role focuses on installation, testing, labeling, and troubleshooting under the guidance of an AV Field Engineer.

The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of AV systems, takes pride in clean and precise installations, and represents the organization professionally at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and pull low-voltage cabling including Cat5/5e/6/6a, speaker wire, HDMI, and related cabling
  • Perform field terminations such as RJ45, DB9, XLR, 3.5mm, and similar connectors
  • Receive, stage, and organize project materials for installation
  • Install AV components including displays, mounts, racks, projectors, projection screens, speakers, microphones,       wall panels, table cubbies, and in-table microphones
  • Review and interpret floor plans, line diagrams, and rack elevations to ensure accurate installations
  • Submit daily project reports outlining work completed and project status
  • Work closely with AV Field Engineers during system programming and commissioning
  • Interact with customers professionally while maintaining high standards of integrity
  • Maintain clean, organized job sites and complete final walkthroughs at project close

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3-5+ years of experience in AV installation, troubleshooting, and service
  • CTS certification preferred
  • Experience with conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and WebEx
  • Familiarity with AV industry software platforms
  • Strong organizational skills and clear communication abilities
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, crouching, and standing for extended             periods
  • Clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight stays and off-hours work as required
