Job description

Essential Functions

  1. Assist with activities of daily living, following community protocol, licensing regulation and guidelines for both resident and employee safety.
  2. Use universal precautions/infection control measures and safety measures (proper body mechanics) during resident care
  3. Follow the schedule of duties for Resident Assistant, as well as the individual
  4. plan of care for each resident.
  5. Function as a team, assisting coworkers as the need arises.
  6. Monitor resident activity, food intake, functional status, psychosocial
  7. status, taking action as required to promote resident well-being.
  8. Report resident status change including mental, emotional or physical changes, immediately to the charge nurse/DON.
  9. Act immediately on any resident crisis, following protocol and basic first
  10. aid training.
  11. Complete Incident Reports for Falls as per company protocol.
  12. Assist resident with dining services by taking orders for room deliveries or assisting residents to dining room and being part of dining room service team.
  13. Use equipment and supplies effectively, safely, and efficiently per the care plan.
  14. Maintain personal hygiene and professional appearance as per facility policy dress code.
  15. Maintain resident and facility confidentiality at all times.
  16. Participate in on-going in-service education and staff meetings as directed by Director of Nursing
  17. Attend care plan meeting as directed by Director of Nursing
  18. Tidy up of resident apartments and bathrooms daily or as directed by Supervisor.
  19. Communicate with the Director of Nursing on a regular basis regarding employee availability (non-emergency PTO must be scheduled two weeks in advance to ensure appropriate staffing level are maintained for the residents);
  20. Represent Autumn Care Management, in a positive way, promoting good public relations with families, friends, and the community.
  21. All other assignments and responsibilities as outlined by supervisor.

Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated skills in the areas of Nursing Care Or CNA Training
  2. Understand Autumn Care Policy and Procedures and Employee Manual.
  3. Ability to work as a team and supervise Resident Assistants effectively.
  4. Computer literate.
