Your role at Baxter:

As a Principal Systems Engineer at Baxter, you are responsible to lead cross-functional teams in the driving successful closure of challenging development projects to final design, as well as resolving difficult problems in a collaborative environment. Provide technical leadership that is effective and efficient. Plans, executes and functionally directs important engineering assignments, which require independent judgment.

What you'll be doing:
  • Technical team leader for a sustaining product with high to moderate complexity.
  • Recognize strategy, evaluates risks, recommends actions and develops contingencies to address various scenarios. Able to analyze risk/tradeoffs and make recommendations of appropriate path forward.
  • Ensure the integration of deliverables from subsystem teams, cross functional teams (risk management, compliance, etc.) and external partners.
  • Resolve competing constraints between interrelated functions (Engineering, Risk Management, Compliance, Reliability, Clinical, Human Factors, Regulatory), ensure compliance to the product development process and Quality System requirements.
  • Implement configuration and change management through the complete product life-cycle.
  • Coordinate internal as well as contractor and 3rd party service providers.
  • Prepare and present written and oral reports to internal and external audiences as required.

What you'll bring:

  • B.S. and 5 + years related experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering disciplines and solid knowledge of related disciplines, Systems, Electro/Mechanical, Fluid Mechanics, Materials Science, etc.
  • Cross-functional team experience, including technical and non-technical work.
  • Success in delivering results on technical challenges including strong investigative and problem solving skills

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $112,000 to $154,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
