Job description

Position Summary

The Department of Physiology and the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University invites applications for a tenure‑system faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The focus is on the peripheral nervous system and its role in physiology and disease.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

Successful candidates will establish and maintain a vigorous, externally funded research program; contribute to the teaching mission of the department and college, including graduate, undergraduate, and professional education; and participate in departmental and university service activities. Candidates will have the opportunity to join interdisciplinary graduate training programs in Neuroscience, Molecular Cellular Integrated Physiology, and Biomedical Sciences.

Required Degree

Doctorate in Neuroimmunology, organ‑brain communication, neuroendocrinology, autonomic neuroscience, sensory biology, neurovascular interactions, neuro‑metabolic regulation, neural mechanisms underlying chronic disease, or a related neuroscience field.

Desired Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates whose research complements and expands existing departmental strengths while fostering new collaborative opportunities.
