The Automotive Service Writer serves as the primary point of contact between customers and the service department, ensuring smooth communication and efficient management of repair services. Reporting directly to the Service Manager within a small team of 1-3 writers, this role involves frequent collaboration with automotive technicians and the use of specialized management software for scheduling, order processing, and invoicing.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers to identify service needs and provide updates
  • Schedule vehicle service appointments and coordinate with technicians
  • Manage repair orders from intake through completion
  • Perform customer follow-ups to ensure satisfaction
  • Process invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in automotive service writing
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
