VA Sr Test Engineer/Functional TesterRemote PositionEMKS seeks a Senior Test Engineer to provide functional testing support for the Veterans Affairs (VA) Independent Enterprise Testing and Support Services (IETSS) contract. The objective is to support improved interoperability within and between systems of care to help address VA's health care priorities. This includes contributing to and supporting the overall performance and success of the project, including, but not limited to: designing, implementing, and conducting test and evaluation procedures to ensure health information technology system requirements are met. Determines operational feasibility by evaluating requirements and test results. Document and demonstrate knowledge of solutions by developing documentation, reviewing test plans, developing test cases, and entering test findings when appropriate: reviews solution documentation and system design specifications. Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures. Candidate will be able to collaborate and actively participate in meetings with stakeholders, other engineers, and Subject Matter Experts. Various applications supported include, but are not limited to, VistA legacy, Oracle Millennium, COTS/GOTS integration with VistA legacy, and others. Duties/Responsibilities:Evaluate, implement, test, and manage technology solutions.Develop and execute interoperability analyses. Conduct functional and round-trip testing with connected interfaces.Understand project architecture, test environment, and test data needs.Conduct thorough testing of the product: positive, negative, validation, exploratory, and regression.Testing may include the verification and validation of data integrity. This testing includes items such as database persistence and/or validation of data transfer between systems to verify technical solution requirements have been met, either within VA or across agencies such as VA and DoD.Identify and disposition defects as per standards and processes.Required Qualifications:Must understand Web-based applications.Good understanding of functional testing. Must be capable of utilizing organizationally established architecture tools, repositories, and repository management processes to capture, publish, and maintain artifacts. The candidate must possess good interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to convey technical information, considering the audience appropriately.Candidate should have experience producing effective client deliverable analysis reports with little to no supervision.Must have the ability to work simultaneously on multiple tasks, if necessary, handle changing priorities, be detail-oriented, and be able to work independentlyApplicants selected will be subject to a government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and obtain a Government-granted Security clearance.Bachelor's Degree in a recognized technical, engineering, scientific, managerial, business, or other discipline related to the area of expertise.
