In our HVDC Protection Team, we are testing and verifying the hardware and software for our innovative HVDC Projects in our Test Center and ensure proper functionality and good quality of our HVDC Plants worldwide during commissioning. Our diverse and multinational teams are working closely together with project management, engineering as well as with end customers to provide customized solutions based on the latest innovations in HVDC technology.

What You will Do:

  • You will actively advance the Energy Transition by bringing our HVDC projects to a successful completion with our customers
  • You are part of a project team in Integration Testing and you carry out Functional Tests of the Control & Protection hardware and software in one of our test centers
  • You independently trace bugs and support our Software Engineering in debugging
  • You are responsible for the execution and documentation of the Functional Performance Tests (FPT) and Dynamic Performance Tests (DPT) of the HVDC System, including Customer Acceptance Tests in one of our test centers
  • You will be responsible for the commissioning of the Measuring System, the DC Protection System and the Transient Fault Recorder for our HVDC Projects as a part of a highly motivated team, at our customers sites worldwide
  • You will support our Commissioning Management in Quality, Risk and Claim Management and you actively participate in our improvement programs

What You Will Bring:

  • Completed studies in electrical engineering, energy technology or comparable Completed degree in electrical engineering, energy technology or comparable education / qualification
  • Good knowledge in one or more of the following areas: project planning and testing via MATLAB/SIMULINK, Siemens SIMATIC TDC/S7, CFC, grid protection systems
  • ·Knowledge or ideally working experience in the field of Electrical Engineering and Commissioning of Electrical Power Stations or HVDC Systems
  • Knowledge in Current- and Voltage Measuring devices and other primary equipment
  • Fluent English language skills, further language skills are very welcome
  • Willingness for worldwide business trips and mainly long-term assignments on construction sites in Germany and abroad, as well as optional assignments on offshore platforms 
  • Team player, communicative, proactive, positive handling of conflicts, decision-making capability

Work Requirements:

This role is considered an on-site position located in Raleigh , NC

  • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours. 

Travel Requirements: Due to the nature of the work, 50% of travel is required. 

Pay Range: ($80k to $90k/annum).
