Job description

Job Summary

Senior Quality Engineer โ€“ Front Royal, VA. The Senior Quality Engineer proactively improves product quality by designing and deploying processes to mitigate product risk. Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, the role helps the functions and manufacturing site exceed customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and oversee the internal Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) process.
  • Participate in site internal audits to identify and address improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain QN and CAPA metrics and strive for improvement in systems based on trended data.
  • Implement advanced statistical methods, process automation, and predictive quality modeling.
  • Perform root cause analysis using 5 Why, 8โ€‘D, CAPA, and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
  • Drive continuous improvement through communication and training on quality standards, requirements, and best practices.
  • Maintain the appropriate documents and files to align with the Site Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Utilize quality tools (process mapping, Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), control plans) to drive quality into processes.
  • Execute sampling procedures and record inspection results.
  • Complete detailed documentation and reports of all inspection activities in accordance with company policy and customer specified requirements.
  • Mentor junior quality staff.
  • Direct technical and administrative workers engaged in quality activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering or Chemistry, or high school degree and equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and problemโ€‘solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
  • Travel less than 10% of total time.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and laboratory environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering position.
  • Experience in an automotive quality assurance environment (preferred).
  • Experience in automotive coatings formulation and/or application (preferred).
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification (preferred).
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or similar certification (preferred).
Compensation & Benefits

Compensation range: $110,000 โ€“ $130,000 USD annually. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.
