ABOUT THE COMPANY

Eldor Corporation, our parent company in Orsenigo, Italy has remained a leading supplier of ignition system components for gas-powered vehicles for over 50 years. Eldor Automotive Powertrain USA is looking for a Plastic Quality Operator to join our Plastics Quality department within our production facility located in Daleville, VA.


ABOUT THE ROLE

The Plastic Quality Operator main responsibility is to inspect parts to ensure they meet the target output and quality of products. Effectively communicate abnormal product conditions for problem resolution.

Daily Mission:

  • Check equipment and products at the start through end of shift and maintain the 5S condition throughout.
  • Perform required in-process and outgoing testing of parts according to the quality control plan and process material release in SAP software.
  • Defect discovery, separation, recording, and reporting.
  • Ensure proper documentation and instructions are available and understood by machine operators.
  • Effectively communicate abnormal conditions to supervisor and responsible plastics operators and technicians.
  • Other duties as required

ABOUT THE QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

  • High School Diploma


Experiences Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment with experience in quality inspection and/or plastics preferred.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Visio.
  • SAP experience preferred.


Technical Knowledge/Skills (Preferred):

  • Experience detecting and judging general plastic parts defect types.
  • Understand production work rules (5S, standard operation, safety, able to communicate quality issues, etc.).
  • Knowledge of automotive quality standards (QS9000/9001, ISO-TS 16949)
  • Product Sample Inspection Plans.
  • Internal auditing techniques.
  • Basic understanding of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning and Control Plan), and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process)
  • Minimal understanding of ERP systems
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time.
