Job description

We are adding to our team and looking for an experienced Plastic Injection Molding Process Technician for our 2nd and 3rd Shift. Our Process Technician performs molding machine startups and corrects non-conformance's using scientific molding and root-cause analysis techniques. Additionally, the Process Technician installs, removes, and troubleshoots simple to complex plastic injection molds using various tools in a safe and efficient manner.
Job Duties
Complete daily cycle checklist to ensure safe and efficient operation of complex injection molding equipment
May have to assist with mold sets of injection molding equipment
Complete line clearance following color changes
Respond to machine alarms
Monitor, audit, and provide guidance to line operators
Provide technical assistance to process development and engineering personnel
Assist with machine efficiency
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications
I. Education and certifications
Required: High School diploma or equivalent
Required: Certified RJG Master Molder or AIM Molding 1
Preferred: AIM Molding 2
II. Work experience
Required: Experience performing mold setups or similar work using tools and machinery related to plastic injection molding
Required: 5+ years' processing injection molding machines and creating efficiencies
III. Job skills
Strong Hands-On injection molding processing and troubleshooting ability using scientific approach
Comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of robotics and auxiliary equipment used with Plastics Injection molding machines
Experience of Multi-Shot molding, automated color blending and central material drying
Experience with engineering grade materials
Ability to work under limited supervision, to self-initiate activities and to work within time limits.
Proficiency using shop monitoring systems for proper assignment of various codes, mold cavitation, etc.
Ability to communicate root cause issues and actions being implemented
Relentless continuous improvement driver
Availability: work shift overtime and possible weekends
