Job description

The Sales Consultant at PowerHouse Automotive Group is responsible for guiding guests through the vehicle selection and purchase process while delivering an exceptional, no-pressure guest experience. This role focuses on building relationships, meeting sales goals, and representing the PowerHouse brand with professionalism, product knowledge, and integrity.

Sales Consultants are expected to be proactive, guest-focused, and driven to succeed in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience & Customer Engagement
  • Greet all guests promptly and professionally, establishing rapport and trust.

  • Utilize a clean copy of the PowerHouse Guest Sheet to identify guest needs, preferences, and budget considerations.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with guests through consistent follow-up via phone, email, and text.

  • Deliver a positive, transparent, and welcoming dealership experience from first contact through delivery.

Sales Process
  • Present and explain vehicle features, options, and benefits across the OEM lineup.

  • Conduct test drives while addressing guest questions and ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience.

  • Educate guests on financing options, extended service contracts, and dealership products.

  • Accurately prepare and review sales documentation in compliance with dealership policies and regulations.

  • Partner closely with the Finance & Insurance (F&I) team to complete transactions smoothly and efficiently.

Daily Work Activities
  • Stay informed on inventory updates, dealership promotions, manufacturer incentives, and required training.

  • Monitor and respond promptly to internet, phone, and showroom leads.

  • Maintain accurate and complete guest records in the dealership CRM, including opportunity logs and follow-up activity.

  • Review daily and monthly sales goals and execute strategies to achieve them.

  • Perform regular lot walk-arounds to ensure inventory is clean, organized, and properly displayed.

  • Participate in daily sales meetings, training sessions, and team-building activities.

  • Collaborate with sales leadership and team members to improve processes and performance.

Industry & Product Knowledge
  • Stay current on automotive trends, product updates, and competitor offerings.

  • Complete manufacturer training and certifications as required.

Performance Expectations (90-Day Benchmark)

To be successful in this role, Sales Consultants are expected to achieve the following within a rolling 90-day period:

  • 10 vehicles per month, on average

  • 30 vehicles sold within a rolling 90-day period

Lead Generation & Follow-Up

  • Contact 5-7 new leads daily (walk-ins, internet, phone)

  • Follow up with 10-12 existing prospects or prior guests daily

  • Set 2-3 in-store appointments per day (or 10-15 per week)

Guest Engagement

  • Engage with 1-2 walk-in guests daily

  • Conduct 5-7 test drives per week

  • Maintain a 20-25% closing ratio (approximately 1 sale for every 4-5 guests)

Pipeline Management

  • Maintain an active pipeline of 40-50 prospects

  • Use the CRM daily to track guest interactions, follow-ups, and sales progress

Qualifications
  • Previous experience in automotive sales, customer service, or a call-center environment preferred.

  • Familiarity with OEM vehicles and features is a plus, but not required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Comfortable using CRM systems and basic computer applications.

  • Highly organized with strong time-management and multitasking abilities.

  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and team-focused.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional sales or marketing education is a plus.
