Job description

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Paint Technician.


In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, painting, and refinishing vehicle surfaces to restore vehicles to their original condition or enhance their appearance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of automotive surface preparation, painting techniques, and auto body repair processes. The Automotive Paint Technician position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment dedicated to quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.


Duties

  • Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, masking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality.
  • Apply primers, paints, coatings, and clear coats using conventional spray guns and airless paint spraying equipment with precision.
  • Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, welding, and auto glass replacement as needed.
  • Conduct buffing, polishing, and detailing to achieve a high-quality finish that meets industry standards.
  • Operate power tools such as grinders, sanders, and buffing machines safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols including respiratory protection measures.
  • Assist with auto restoration projects by applying automotive paints and coatings for classic or damaged vehicles.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while maintaining excellent customer service standards.


Qualifications

  • Proven dealership experience or extensive background in automotive body refinishing is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with welding, auto painting, and surface preparation techniques.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and auto body repair processes.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, sanding equipment, and spray guns for automotive applications.
  • Familiarity with automotive buffing, detailing, auto estimating, and heavy lifting procedures.
  • Knowledge of automotive paints, primers, coatings, and surface preparation masking techniques.
  • Experience working with auto glass replacement and auto restoration projects is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members while demonstrating excellent attention to detail.


Pay rate: $25 an hour to start.


Schedule: Monday - Friday. 7 am to 3:30 pm.
