Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient individual to join our team as a Technical Sales Engineer for automotive parts. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with procurement and engineering teams, identifying opportunities for sales, and providing technical expertise to support the sales process.


Your primary goal will be to drive the sales of our automotive parts to clients and contribute to the growth and success of our business.


Responsibilities:


  • Establish and nurture relationships: Build strong relationships with client procurement, engineering, and product teams, serving as the primary point of contact for technical sales inquiries and fostering a positive rapport.
  • Identify sales opportunities: Proactively identify and pursue potential sales opportunities within client supply chain by staying up-to-date with their product requirements, future projects, and industry trends.
  • Technical expertise: Demonstrate a deep understanding of our automotive parts, their features, and how they align with Client's requirements. Provide technical advice, solutions, and recommendations to client's engineering teams to ensure our products meet their specifications.
  • Sales strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy and account plan for clients, including target setting, forecasting, and action plans to achieve sales objectives and maximize revenue.
  • Proposal and quotation preparation: Collaborate with internal teams such as engineering, operations, and finance to prepare compelling proposals and quotations that align with client's needs and pricing expectations.
  • Negotiation and closing: Conduct negotiations with client's procurement teams to secure contracts and close deals. Ensure terms and conditions are mutually beneficial, while also considering our company's profitability and business goals.
  • Market intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics relevant to automotive parts sales. Provide insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders for product development and business growth.
  • Customer support: Act as a technical liaison between client and our organization, addressing any post-sales inquiries, providing technical support, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • Reporting and analytics: Maintain accurate and timely sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis. Use data to track sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to enhance results.


To qualify for this role you must meet the following:


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A technical background in automotive engineering is preferred.
  • Proven experience in technical sales or business development within the automotive industry, preferably with a focus on electric vehicle manufacturers
  • Strong knowledge of automotive parts, particularly those used in electric vehicles, and an understanding of electric vehicle product specifications and requirements
  • Preferred skills: Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (reading, writing, and speaking), with experience conducting business activities in both languages.
