Job Overview:

The cloud data engineer is responsible for data engineering and analysis support to the contract

management and tax applications. This position requires a proactive mindset, strong technical

background, solid data analysis and business analysis skills.. The Cloud Data Engineer supports core

applications such as Contract Management, Tax, and Accounting.

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Understanding the data layout of the contract management and tax systems, and build data solutions to support business requirements
  • Write and execute scripts to extract data from internal databases for validations, analysis, and other system integrations
  • Partner with business and other tech teams to translate business needs to design and develop dashboards and reports
  • Build APIs to support integrations
  • Drive analysis that provides meaningful insights on business strategies
  • Support teams in data migration activities, building AI and automation capabilities.
  • Have working knowledge of Azure cloud, and is capable of building solutions using data from multiple clouds.
  • Experience in Java, PostgreSQL, and Python is highly recommended.
  • Occasionally, build data infrastructure to support new application upgrades.

The Cloud data engineer is required to maintain a productive working relationship with business and other IT applications. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to a variety of responsibilities and settings are crucial to success in this position. Position will require supporting Internal Control System (Sarbanes-Oxley) processes and documentation.

Responsibilities:

Perform Production Support: Promptly address customer issues/tickets; Address system
issues by performing root cause analysis and eliminating repeat problems (25%)
Act as a Data Analyst for the application. Understand the functional aspects, business
processes, interfaces, screens, business flow and data of the multiple systems. (20%)
Conduct data analysis, build reports, build APIs to support integrations, support data
migrations, build AI and automation capabilities (20%)
Plan/Communicate: Develop plans and time estimates; Track progress to plans; Communicate
status, issues and risks to manager on a timely basis. Develop strong and productive
relationships with business partners, colleagues and management. (15%)
Comply with departmental standards: Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with
Sarbanes Oxley requirements and ITM standards, as defined in business process system.
Comply with and document for audit purposes project methodologies for both Program
Change (PC) and Program Development (PD). (10%)
Build database structures as needed during application upgrades (10%)
 

Qualifications:

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. at the time of application. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this position. 
This position requires a minimum of 3 years of overall work experience. Preferred experience includes:

  • Information Technology: 1-3 years

Education:
Bachelor's Degree is required. Recommended majors include:
