Job description

The Automotive Technician (Automotive Mechanic) inspects, maintains, and repairs cars and light trucks, utilizing specialized diagnostic computers and hand tools to ensure vehicle safety and optimal performance. Working primarily within a small team, this role involves both routine and complex repair tasks requiring daily travel to different job sites or service locations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicles for safety and performance issues
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on cars and light trucks
  • Use diagnostic computers and hand tools to troubleshoot malfunctions
  • Repair engines, brake systems, and other mechanical components
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Interact professionally with customers to explain repairs and maintenance
  • Keep detailed records of services performed and parts used
  • Collaborate with team members to address complex technical problems

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive repair
