QA Tech - 2nd Shift

Location: Hastings, NE 68901

Department: Quality Assurance

Reports To: QA Manager

New: March 1, 2018

Summary

Assigned under the general supervision of the QA Manager to utilize a variety of QA processes, equipment, and monitors the production of wholesome and regulatory compliant finished product. To ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation, safety, quality, and service in mind at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assists in reviewing HACCP documentation.
  • Responsible for collection and preparation of daily finished product samples to outside lab, including the monitoring and distribution of results.
  • Responsible for control of non-conforming product - suspect lab results, processing issues on the assigned production shift.
  • Responsible for the oversight of fat analysis testing for each batch of meat used for production of finished product.
  • Assist in GMPs, SOP, SSOP, and HACCP programs.
  • Responsible for obtaining documentation of regulatory or program deviations that occur on the assigned shift and providing recommendations to QA Manager.
  • Assists with the investigation of customer complaints.
  • Responsible for the control and documentation of all foreign object incidents and materials found in process during the assigned production shift.
  • Responsible for adhering to USDA regulations.
  • Responsible for documentation of sanitation chemical titrations.
  • Maintains good morale and positive attitude.
  • All other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience with GMPs, HACCP, sanitation, process improvement, plant safety programs, and quality assurance. Ability to align performance for success and demonstrate strong people skills. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED. Experience working in QA preferably and knowledge of the food industry.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with employees and management. Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited experience exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
