Project Engineer III
 
The Project Engineer III is responsible for managing and implementing advanced IT infrastructure and cloud projects. This includes designing complex architectures, ensuring project efficiency, and providing technical leadership within the project team. The Project Engineer III collaborates with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure that solutions meet technical specifications, adhere to Managed Services Provider (MSP) standards, and are delivered on time and within budget.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·       Collaborate with clients, project managers, and internal teams to define project scope, objectives, and timelines. Develop detailed project plans, allocate resources, and set milestones to ensure timely delivery.
·       Provide technical direction and hands-on implementation for IT projects, including network infrastructure, cloud services, hardware, software installations, and other IT solutions.
·       Work directly with clients to understand their technical requirements, challenges, and goals. Serve as the main technical point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
·       Design and configure IT systems, networks, and infrastructure that meet client requirements, using industry best practices and ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
·       Oversee the execution of IT projects, ensuring technical specifications are met, and that the project is delivered on time, within budget, and in line with the scope.
·       Configure, test, and implement new systems, software, and technologies, ensuring that all solutions work seamlessly and meet client expectations.
·       Address any technical issues that arise during project implementation, working quickly and effectively to resolve problems and minimize disruptions.
·       Maintain detailed documentation of all systems, configurations, and processes related to each project, including setup guides, architecture diagrams, and post-implementation reports.
·       Provide training and guidance to clients and internal teams on new systems and technologies implemented as part of the project.
·       Report on project status to stakeholders, including progress updates, potential risks, and solutions to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
·       Offer post-project support, including troubleshooting, system optimization, and helping clients with ongoing maintenance or future upgrades.
·       Assist in the onboarding and development of new team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
 
Qualifications:
·       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
·       5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and project delivery, with a focus on complex network and cloud environments.
·       Extensive knowledge of networking, server architecture, storage, and virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
·       Advanced proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience with hybrid cloud configurations.
·       Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, including firewall configurations, VPNs, and data protection practices.
·       Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
·       Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) for infrastructure.
·       Proven track record of successfully implementing and managing high-impact IT projects in an MSP environment.
·       Experience in leading and mentoring junior engineers and collaborating in cross-functional teams.
·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client-facing roles and cross-team collaboration.
·       Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on detail and quality.
·       Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
·       Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
 
Preferred Skills:
·       AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
·       VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
·       ITIL certification or CompTIA Security+ for understanding best practices in IT service management.
