Job description

Job Summary 

The Senior Manager, Marketing Demand Generation is responsible for aggressively growing AFL’s global presence in inbound/outbound business-to-business digital, social and event marketing spaces while building an industry-leading team of professionals to execute strategic plans. This leader will manage a team that drives digital marketing and lead generation implementation strategies in addition to our tradeshow, conferences, events, and social media marketing execution activities. Role includes motivating teams, evaluating campaign performance data, and reporting regularly on program successes that generate industry awareness, drive leads to AFL, and ultimately impact AFL’s revenue growth.  

Core Responsibilities 

  • Manage and professionally develop a team of 3-5 events, social media, and digital marketing professionals on the corporate / shared services team 
  • Support the strategic planning & content development efforts of the commercial Solution Marketing team for Energy, Broadband and Data Center markets & products  
  • Run testing and optimization (A/B tests, audience segmentation, messaging/offer iteration) to improve conversion rates throughout the funnel. 
  • Analyze, monitor, and continually improve AFL’s digital/social/event marketing programs 
  • Negotiate contracts for digital tools, technology, and all industry media outlets 
  • Develop unique ways to create digital dashboards for collective information 
  • Use AI tools to accelerate content creation, campaign production, and content repurposing workflows 

Marketing Automation & Lead Management 

  • Digital and social campaign implementation may include email marketing, online promotions, third party advertising, media planning/buying/ placement, Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Pay-Per-Click (PPC), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and inbound and account-based marketing (ABM) 
  • Event implementation may include regional/national trade shows and conferences, hospitality events, annual sales meetings, and/or strategic customer visits to AFL HQ 

Collaboration & Analytical Thinking  

  • Strong analytical capabilities and obsessive focus on testingfor outcomes & results 
  • Drive cross functional alignment across the organization  
  • Align with Creative, Corporate Communications, Interactive & Operations marketing teams 
  • Foster industry relationships with key publishing contacts in select markets

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, or related field 
  • 8-10 years of experience creating digital, event and social media campaign plans & content 
  • 5+ years of high performing marketing team personnel management  
  • Computer/Technical skills:  Strong knowledge of interactive technologies preferred (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) 
  • Previous experience with web-and cloud-based demand generation applications (Sitecore, Marketo, Salesforce, Wrike, Workfront, Cvent or similar technologies) 
  • Demonstrated competence with MS Office 
  • Ability to quickly master new software as required to meet business objectives.  

Working Conditions 

  • Standard corporate office environment. Ability to travel when necessary for assigned training and/or projects.
