About the Role

We’re hiring a skilled Machine Builder for our day shift. This full-time, hourly position offers competitive pay, strong benefits, and a consistent schedule. If you take pride in quality workmanship and want stability without nights or weekends, we want to hear from you.

As a Machine Builder at HPEC Automation, you’ll be responsible for building, conditioning, and qualifying automated machinery that meets strict mechanical, electrical, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read electrical schematics and build/wire control panels

  • Review mechanical drawings and provide design input

  • Assemble machines and sub-assemblies

  • Install pneumatic plumbing in automation equipment

  • Condition tooling to improve fit and machine performance

  • Update/redline tool drawings after modifications

  • Fabricate tooling as required

  • Perform quality inspections during qualification and production

  • Operate machines for production qualification runs

  • Maintain and adjust automation equipment to optimize production

  • Troubleshoot and debug mechanical and electrical issues

  • Prepare machines for shipment (securing, crating, re-assembly)

  • Follow HPEC Automation build standards and OSHA & machine safety regulations

  • Assist with machine manuals

  • Mentor Machine Builder I team members

  • Travel as required to support projects (up to 10%)

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • 6+ years of related experience

  • Ability to read product and tool drawings

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • AS degree in manufacturing technology preferred

  • Introductory coursework in control systems

  • Certified Journeyman Tool and Die Maker preferred
