Machine Builder
Location: Auburn Hills, MichiganPosition Overview
We are seeking a skilled Machine Builder to support the assembly, installation, and integration of automated manufacturing systems and production line equipment. This role is hands-on and requires strong mechanical aptitude, welding capability, and the ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in industrial or automotive environments and be comfortable working on large-scale automation systems and equipment installations.Key Responsibilities
  • Install, assemble, and align mechanical components for automated production systems
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and layout schematics
  • Perform MIG/TIG welding and fabrication as required for equipment installation
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, and rigging equipment to move and position machinery
  • Install conveyors, robotic cells, fixtures, and structural components
  • Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and anchoring of equipment
  • Assist with system startups, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Work alongside engineering and controls teams during commissioning
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all OSHA and company safety standards
  • Travel to customer sites as needed for installations and support
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical installation, machine building, or industrial equipment assembly
  • Proven welding experience (MIG/TIG required)
  • Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, alignment, and assembly processes
