Supervisor, 3rd Shift Production

Job Overview:


The Supervisor, 3rd Shift Production will be responsible for leading activities and managing the 3rd shift team across manufacturing operations. The main emphasis for this position is coordinating all aspects of the production team regarding workflow, quality, safety, and efficiency. The Supervisor will coordinate with the Plant Manager and other shift leaders to ensure alignment across operations and to provide world class equipment for our customers.


Shift:

  • 3rd shift

Job Functions:

  • Responsible for overall safety in all departments. Ensure team members are not putting themselves or others in danger.
  • Effectively manage all direct reports and be responsible for hiring, training, performance evaluation, and retention and termination activities.
  • High level understanding of design, production, FAT and shipping requirements for projects.
  • Plan work flow and layout required for all production areas.
  • Develops production goals and schedules and distributes tasks.
  • This position requires flexibility as workload demands to jump in and help with the execution of projects.
  • Develop and contribute to a positive workplace with high morale on the production floor.
  • Participate in manufacturing kickoff meetings with manufacturing team and engineering.
  • Can work with direct reports in developing their goals and objectives and prepare and give performance evaluations. Can recommend and implement disciplinary action in accordance with company policy and procedure. Can provide career counseling for employees.
  • Ensure that finished products meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Assist in production, safety, and quality risk assessment and mitigation activities.
  • Any and all job duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 5% (Travel expenses paid by Bastian Automation)

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

  • Relevant experience in a lead role.
  • High School education or GED, relevant manufacturing, production, and/or leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and develop assemblies from these specifications.
  • Understanding of project requirements in regard to FAT and shipping.
  • Highest of quality standards.
  • Positive attitude, able to handle tense situations that arise.
  • Team player, able to take as well as give direction.
  • Ability to operate and supervise operation of heavy-duty equipment in a safe manner.
