Job description

Location: On-site, available for hire in either New York or Puerto Rico.

Job Summary:

The Senior Analyst- Finance Data is responsible for transforming financial and operational data into actionable insights that support strategic decisionmaking. This role partners closely with Finance Leadership, FP&A, Operations, IT, and Business stakeholders to develop analytics, dashboards, and models that improve forecast accuracy, financial visibility, and overall business performance.

This position places a strong emphasis on AIenabled analytics, automation, and the use of generative AI tools (including the Claude app) to enhance financial analysis, reporting efficiency, decision support, and executive storytelling. The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen, advanced data analytics capabilities, and the ability to leverage AI responsibly to deliver faster, deeper insights.

Experience:

  •  5+ years of experience in finance analytics, FP&A, or financial data analysis.

  • Strong understanding of financial statements, forecasting, planning, and performance metrics.

  • Advanced Excel skills (Power Query, Power Pivot, complex formulas).

  • Experience with visualization tools (Tableau, or equivalent).

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI or analytics tools to enhance financial insights and efficiency.

  • Strong analytical, problemsolving, criticalthinking, and communication skills.

  • Proven ability to present insights effectively to senior leadership.

  • Master's degree (MBA, MS Finance, Analytics, or Data Science), is preferred. 

  • Experience in manufacturing, global operations, or matrixed environments.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle, EPM, SmartView, Essbase or similar).

  • Experience with SQL, Python, or other analytics/programming languages.

  • Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude app, Copilot, or similar) to support finance analysis or reporting.

  • Familiarity with finance transformation initiatives, data governance, or AI governance frameworks.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
New York Salary Range: $83,458 - $139,096. This salary range represents the company's good faith estimate of base pay for this position in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

Financial & Business Analytics

  • Analyze large, complex financial and operational datasets to identify trends, risks, and performance drivers.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and longrange planning through advanced analytics and datadriven insights.
  • Perform variance analysis (actuals vs. forecast/budget) and identify root causes with clear business implications.
  • Develop scenario modeling and sensitivity analyses to support strategic and investment decisions.
  • Leverage AI and advanced analytical tools to accelerate insight generation and improve forecast quality.
  • Design, build, and maintain automated financial dashboards and reports (e.g., Tableau).
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across financial systems and reporting platforms.
  • Partner with IT and Data teams to improve data pipelines, master data, and reporting architecture.
  • Standardize financial metrics, definitions, and reporting logic across functions.
  • Utilize generative AI tools, including the Claude app, to: 
    • Summarize financial results and trends
    • Assist with adhoc analysis and management commentary
    • Improve documentation, reporting narratives, and executive presentations
  • Apply appropriate governance, controls, and financial judgement when using AIgenerated outputs.

Data Management, Reporting & AI Enablement

Stakeholder Partnership & Insights Delivery

  • Act as a trusted analytics and insights partner to FP&A, Operations, Supply Chain, and Corporate Finance.

  • Translate complex financial data and AIsupported insights into concise, executiveready presentations.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve decisionmaking, efficiency, and performance through analytics and automation.

  • Support leadership with timely insights and scenario analysis during planning and business reviews.

Continuous Improvement & Finance Transformation

  • Drive automation and efficiency in financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis processes, including the implementation of selfservice reporting tools.

  • Evaluate and apply advanced analytics techniques, including predictive and trendbased modeling.

  • Champion the responsible adoption of AI tools within Finance to improve productivity and insight quality.

  • Support broader finance transformation, digitalization, and process improvement initiatives.

Travel: 

Travel requirements 5%.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong partnership mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with Global Operations, Regional, and Corporate leadership to position Finance as a trusted business partner.

  • Proven hands-on experience in financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and actuals tracking, with strong ownership of key financial metrics.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze actual vs. plan results, identify key drivers of variances, and clearly communicate insights and business implications to senior management.

  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement across finance processes.

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, including working knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance requirements.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to work with large, complex datasets and translate them into actionable insights.

  • Experience with financial systems and data tools such as ERP platforms (Oracle, Hyperion, SmartView, Essbase) and visualization tools (Tableau or equivalent).

  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel advanced functions, Power Query, Power Pivot); experience with SQL, Python, or similar tools is a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and automation tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, or similar) to enhance financial analysis, reporting efficiency, and decision support, while applying appropriate governance and controls.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present complex financial and data insights in a clear and concise manner to executive audiences.
