Senior Engineer/Project Manager - Water Resources | Memphis, TN | Full Time

About the Role

Buchart Horn is seeking a Senior Engineer to support the growth of our Water Resources Strategic Business Unit. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who enjoys serving as a technical leader and/or project manager on complex water and wastewater projects.

This position supports projects across all Water Resources locations and offers the opportunity to work on impactful municipal and utility projects from planning through construction.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Engineer/Project Manager, you will lead the technical development and delivery of complex water and wastewater projects, as well as land development and stormwater design in support of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will help shape solutions that support critical infrastructure while mentoring developing engineers and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams across the firm.

As part of an Engineering team, you will:

  • Plan, design, and develop water and wastewater systems including treatment facilities, pumping stations, and collection and distribution systems
  • Perform advanced engineering analyses, system studies, and independent calculations
  • Lead project design from early planning and schematic phases through construction documentation
  • Support permitting efforts and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations
  • Review shop drawings, develop specifications, construction cost estimates, and sequencing
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to EITs, interns, and designers
  • Serve as a primary client liaison, oversee execution of projects, manage budgets and schedules, and support the overall profitability and success of assigned projects.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Strong technical background in water and wastewater engineering and infrastructure design
  • Experience serving as a technical lead and/or project manager on complex projects
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit or BIM tools, and Civil 3D
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and hydraulic modeling tools such as WaterGEMS,  SewerGEMS, and/or BioWin or other similar process modeling software preferred
  • Expertise in Water and Wastewater Conveyance Systems, Treatment Systems, and Process Design
  • Understanding of construction practices, cost estimating, and specification development
