Job Overview

Taiga is a rapidly scaling off-road electric vehicle technology and manufacturing company seeking a Controls Engineer on our Automation Team to design, program, and implement advanced automated manufacturing technologies and equipment into our manufacturing facilities.


As a member of the Industrial Automation group, you will be part of a fast-paced and dynamic team to design and implement automated assembly equipment to manufacture Taigas innovative powersports vehicles. Furthermore, you will interface with design and quality engineering to solve problems, improve manufacturability, and design production equipment that meets stringent time and quality demands.


The ideal candidate must have a strong motivation to learn new technologies and must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as a strong eye for detail. If you meet the criteria below, wed love to hear from you!

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and implement industrial control systems and control panels from start to finish
  • Create detailed electrical drawings conforming to industry standards.
  • Select and integrate automation components such as industrial computers, sensors, drives, safety components, etc.
  • Perform software design and programming on various automation control systems (IPC, HMI, Industrial Robots, servo controllers)
  • Work together with software engineering and production management to implement connected automation equipment to company tracking systems
  • Acts as liaison with manufacturers and suppliers of equipment and components to ensure all parts are manufactured to design
  • Assist in implementation, assembly, and commissioning of new machines and equipment
  • Analyze existing control systems and lead improvement initiatives
  • Troubleshoot automated machines and prepare / perform maintenance procedures
  • Prepare diligent documentation and collaborate with other team members both within automation and cross-functionally within Taiga

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Mechatronics, Electrical / Software Engineering or equivalent
  • 2-4 years experience in electrical design and Structured Text programming
  • Strong eCAD proficiency (NX Electrical experience is a strong asset)
  • Strong IPC programming proficiency (Beckhoff TwinCAT experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience with connected devices and industrial networks (EtherCAT, OPC-UA, MQTT, TCP/IP)
  • Knowledge of industrial robot programming (Kuka preferred)
  • Experience in selection and integration of automation components, such as IPC controllers, sensors, electrical drives, etc.
  • Meticulous, attention to detail and innovative mindset
  • Good aptitude for new technologies and mechatronic systems
  • Great communication skills
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team

Nice To Have:

  • Hands on technical background in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Automotive or Powersports Industry, especially with electric vehicles

Responsabilits

Concevoir et mettre en uvre des systmes de contrle industriels et des panneaux de contrle de A Z
Crer des schmas lectriques dtaills conformes aux normes de lindustrie
Slectionner et intgrer des composants dautomatisation tels que des ordinateurs industriels, capteurs, variateurs, composants de scurit, etc.
Effectuer la conception logicielle et la programmation de diffrents systmes de contrle automatiss (IPC, HMI, robots industriels, contrleurs servo, etc.)
Collaborer avec les quipes de gnie logiciel et de gestion de production afin dintgrer les quipements automatiss connects aux systmes de suivi de lentreprise
Agir titre de liaison avec les fabricants et fournisseurs dquipements et de composants afin de sassurer que toutes les pices sont fabriques selon les spcifications
Participer limplantation, lassemblage et la mise en service de nouvelles machines et quipements
Analyser les systmes de contrle existants et piloter des initiatives damlioration
Diagnostiquer les problmes des machines automatises et prparer / effectuer les procdures de maintenance
Produire une documentation rigoureuse et collaborer avec les membres de lquipe, tant au sein de lautomatisation quavec les autres fonctions chez Taiga


Exigences

Baccalaurat en mcatronique, en gnie lectrique / logiciel ou quivalent
2 4 ans dexprience en conception lectrique et en programmation Structured Text
Excellente matrise des outils eCAD (une exprience avec NX Electrical est un atout important)
Excellente matrise de la programmation IPC (une exprience avec Beckhoff TwinCAT est fortement privilgie)
Exprience avec les dispositifs connects et les rseaux industriels (EtherCAT, OPC-UA, MQTT, TCP/IP, etc.)
Connaissance de la programmation de robots industriels (Kuka de prfrence)
