Summary:

The Automation Controls Manager leads the Controls Engineering team and ensures all automation systems, projects, and processes support company goals. This role oversees daily operations, team performance, project execution, and continuous improvement of automation and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Controls Engineering team and oversee daily activities, workloads, and performance
  • Manage automation projects to ensure timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met
  • Conduct annual reviews, set goals, and support employee development
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to Engineers and Technicians
  • Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and equipment investigations
  • Maintain and improve automation standards, documentation, and processes
  • Oversee development of control logic, HMI applications, and system architecture
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, company procedures, and engineering best practices
  • Manage department labor, overhead budgets, and resource planning
  • Collaborate with cross‐functional teams to support operations, service, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of industrial automation experience
  • 2–3 years of leadership or management experience
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, motion control, electrical systems, and industrial networks
  • Experience with Rockwell, Beckhoff, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or similar platforms
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‐solving skills
